Large vs. Medium Baby Car Mirror: Which Size Do You Need?

The Leo&Ella Large baby car mirror is 11.5" x 7.5" and the Medium is 10" x 6.8". That's the whole difference in size, and almost the only difference. If you want the widest view of your baby, pick the Large. If you'd like a smaller mirror in the back seat, pick the Medium. Both are made for a headrest with two exposed posts, and both install in under 30 seconds.
11.5" x 7.5"
Large (13.7" diagonal)
10" x 6.8"
Medium (12" diagonal)
30 sec
to install either one
See the Difference on the Same Headrest
Drag the slider. It's the same headrest, the same two straps and the same spot on the seat, drawn to the same scale, with the Medium on the left and the Large on the right.

The Large is 15% wider and about 10% taller. Multiply it out and the Large's glass covers roughly 27% more area (11.5 x 7.5 is 86 square inches, 10 x 6.8 is 68). That's the size of the view you get of the back seat; both are convex, shatterproof mirrors.

| Spec | Large | Medium | | --------------- | -------------------------------- | ---------------------------------- | | Mirror size | 11.5" x 7.5" (13.7" diagonal) | 10" x 6.8" (12" diagonal) | | Mount | Two adjustable straps, buckles | Double-secure straps, padded mount | | Headrest | Adjustable, two exposed posts | Adjustable, two exposed posts | | Depth | 2" | 2" | | Shipping weight | 1 lb | 1 lb | | Mirror | Convex, shatterproof ABS acrylic | Convex, shatterproof ABS acrylic | | Finish | Matte black | Matte black | | Install | Under 30 seconds, no tools | Under 30 seconds, no tools | | Rotation | 360° | 360° | | Crash tested | Yes | Yes | | Heat resistant | Yes | Yes | | Warranty | Lifetime manufacturer warranty | Lifetime manufacturer warranty |
So the two mirrors differ in size and in how the strap mount is described, and match on every other row: material, depth, weight, 360° rotation, 30-second install, crash testing, heat resistance and the warranty. Neither is a "premium" or "basic" version of the other. You're only choosing how big a mirror you want hanging on the headrest.
Which One Should You Pick?
Pick the Large if you want the biggest view you can get. A bigger convex mirror takes in more of the back seat, which helps if you like to see your baby's whole seat at a glance. It's the mirror to choose when you aren't sure.
Pick the Medium if you'd rather have a smaller mirror in the car. You still get a 12" diagonal convex mirror that rotates 360° and mounts the same way.
Size doesn't fix the headrest question
Both of these mirrors are for adjustable headrests, the kind with two exposed posts. If your headrest is one molded piece (most Teslas, for example), neither strap mirror is the right one. The Tesla & Fixed headrest mirror is the same 11.5" x 7.5" size as the Large, with an elastic loop instead of straps, and it fits adjustable headrests too. Check your headrest in a minute.
Size Isn't Where the View Is Won
A bigger mirror helps, but it's the aim that decides whether you see your baby's face. Whichever size you buy, put it on the headrest behind your baby, level with their face, and turn it toward your rearview mirror. The placement guide covers that, and the install and adjust guide covers the straps. Both mirrors rotate 360°, so you can set the angle from the driver's seat.
If your baby rides in the middle seat or the headrest isn't a good fit, the middle seat guide explains the options.
Quick Answers
What's the difference between the Large and Medium baby car mirror? Size: the Large is 11.5" x 7.5" and the Medium is 10" x 6.8". The material, depth, weight, rotation, install time and warranty are the same.
Is the Medium a travel or "mini" version? It's a smaller mirror with the same build, not a different product line. Both are crash tested, shatterproof (ABS acrylic, not glass) and heat resistant.
Do both fit the same headrests? Both are for adjustable headrests with two exposed posts, and both work in cars, SUVs, minivans, vans and trucks.
Which is better for a newborn? Either shows a rear-facing baby the same way. If you want the most of the back seat in view, the Large gives you more glass.
Is there a free gift? Each mirror comes with a free car window sunshade 2-pack while supplies last. It may ship separately.
